The First Presbyterian Church Preschool is a community outreach of the First Presbyterian Church and has served the greater Monrovia area since in 1951.  As a preschool we follow the developmental practices of early childhood education in a Christian environment.

Our Mission is to offer children and families in the community a high quality, accessible and affordable early childhood education. To provide an enriching experience in a Christian  environment and support the parents as the primary educators of their children’s spiritual, physical, social emotional and academic growth, and to extend the service, outreach and love of Jesus Christ to all in the community.

Our Goal is to provide an enriching educational experience for each child as they live and learn in a Christian atmosphere. To stimulate curiosity and an awareness of their world and develop a good self image for each child. We provide an atmosphere in which each child is lovingly respected and accepted as an individual and is positively guided to develop their whole self; emotional, physical, social, intellectual and creative growth.    

Our curriculum is designed to encourage imagination and creativity by providing experiences with many different art media, musical activities, dramatic play as well as literature math and science. Our staff continually observes each child’s growth and development, often revising lessons plans to meet changing needs.

Admission is open to all families of all racial, cultural and religious groups with children ages two years six months to 5 years of age. All children must be toilet trained.

Our Program is 9-Months (September – June) with a 6 week summer school program which is mid June through July. The Preschool offers half day and full day programs, 2, 3 and 5 days a week.
